Manipulation and Mobilisations

Graded Mobilisation techniques are applied to ensure function is rapidly gained with reduction in pain levels and to improve joint mobility. It is a passive or active/active assisted movement performed within the patient’s pain-free range of the movement and also at the end of the available range .

By definition, to manipulate is defined as ‘to work with one’s hands , to treat manipulation ( Chambers 1998) .

Spinal Manipulations can produce an immediate reduction in pain levels and a dramatic restoration of range of movement.
